Restoration: Original Nicola Simbari palette knife 51 x 51 (Before)
This palette knife painting originally belonged to a gallery in new york. For some reason someone signed this painting under the artists name. THis piece was appraised and was found to be an original; But my client and i could not figure out who would sign an original simbari. Due to this signature it was depleting its value. This painting once belonged to my customers mother and hung in her beach house in florida. This is one of the only things he has left of his mothers, so this is very meaningful to him. this painting not only reminds him of his mother, but his childhood. The restoration i did on this was to go back into the painting and cover up the name underneath. I also cleaned the painted and touched up the frame.

This was a restoration job of an oil painting that was passed down from a prior generation. This painting was displayed above their fireplace in their home and had undergone excessive cigarette ,cigar and fireplace damage for many years. As you can see, it also has had some water damage on the top of the painting; resulting in water marks that streaked throughout the front. This painting is very meaningful to the owner because this painting was not only painted by someone in their family in the 1950's, But this is the exact town that the family is originally from in Italy. With my expertise in restoration; I was pleased to except this job knowing that I would be able to give it a new life again.

This customer contacted me in wanting to have this chair of hers fixed where there was prior dents and scratchs on it. She also wanted to see more painting added to the back with a matching red color from the seat. I advised her that the prior paint was layed on far to thick and that I recommend stripping the chair and give it a whole new paint job.

This person came to me wanting this little end table hand painted. he was looking to have a mural painted on it so we came up with idea of basing the concept around his pond located in his backyard. He had no preference on how much he actually wanted painted on it and I loved the existing color, gray/blue because it already spoke ( water scene ). I left that color, and sanded the piece to give it just enough wear and tear. I wanted to keep the mural within the body of the dresser allowing your eye to move easily throughout the piece. Painting the top did not apply to this piece...due to its very short height this would most likely be used as a stand to hold things.
This commission was located in a garden in Shadyside, PA. This customer purchased this one-of-kind antique door while vacationing in India. As you can see the prior colors were very vibrant and appealing. This customer wanted to bring back those fun colors while stile keeping that vintage appeal; in doing so I sanded as much as I could to keep that look and pushed the color palette to another level.

Acrylic on wood panel door
This was a keyhole door commission for a customers wife for Christmas; Which was delivered Christmas eve. The focus for this door was family and heritage. This customer knew how much family meant to his wife so he really wanted to bring that into the piece. He is originally from England and she is a native from Pittsburgh, but her relatives are from Calabria, Italy. He chose to include a photo of the two of them from their wedding day, pictures of her first grandchild, her children, and her parents. I painted them in a collage like pattern to form a nice placement within the frame of the painted keyhole.

Acrylic on canvas
This was a fun commission and inspiring while creating it at the same time. My customer wanted a piece for her living room that meant something to her. She came up with idea of having the serenity prayer painted on a piece of canvas. I thought it was a great idea considering she read it all the time; I combinded accents of color from her living room and applied an older style text to bring her a vintage / modern piece of art.
